Marshall Thorne

Marshall Dewayne Thorne, 69, of Soddy-Daisy, TN, passed away January 6, 2018. He served in the United States Marine Corps. Marshall retired from AT&T after forty five years of service. He was a member of the Daisy Masonic Lodge #706 F&AM, Daisy Eastern Star, and the Alhambra Shrine Temple where he had been an officer since 2009 and a two term past Potentate, serving in 2013 and 2015. He was a member of numerous clubs including the Red Fez S.C. and the O’Possum Creek S.C. within the Alhambra Shrine Temple.

Marshall was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard L. and Laura L. Thorne.

He is survived by his wife of forty nine years, Suella “Sue” Thorne; son, Marshall “Matt” Thorne, Jr.; daughter, Jennifer (Brant) Caldwell; three grandchildren, PV2 Jackson Caldwell United States Army, Lily Caldwell and Harrison Caldwell; brother, David Thorne and a sister, Joan Dewey.

Services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Chaplain Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Visitation is 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Marshall was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.
