Sgt. Kevin Floyd, a devoted guardian of justice and a cherished member of the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office family, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at the age of 58. He leaves behind a legacy of courage, integrity, and selfless service that will forever be etched in the hearts of all who knew him. Sgt. Floyd dedicated his life to protecting and serving his community. Kevin was a devoted member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.

With unwavering dedication, he joined the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office retiring with 35 years of service, where he quickly distinguished himself as a leader of unparalleled valor and commitment. Throughout his distinguished career, Sgt. Floyd exemplified the true essence of law enforcement, embodying the values of honor, compassion, and professionalism in every aspect of his work. His steadfast devotion to duty, coupled with his innate ability to inspire those around him, earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and citizens alike. Beyond his badge, Sgt. Floyd was a beloved husband to Kristie Floyd; father to Taylor Floyd (Jennifer), Ashley Holland (Chris), Josh DeYoung; stepson, Kody Cavanah (Staci); brother, Kent Floyd (Dianne); grandchildren, Hunter, Madison, Hadley, Rylee, Gage, Hanna and Kayson Holland; Allison Floyd; Olivia Posey; Braxton and Jackson Bedell; Tinsleigh, Maddix and Nora DeYoung; Hayden Cavanah. He was especially loved by his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Henry Floyd; mother, Ora Frances Floyd; brother, Larry Carter; sisters, Pam Phillips and Debbie Hayes; grandson, Dallas Holland. His kindness, humor, and unwavering support brought joy and comfort to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a pillar of strength and a beacon of hope in times of need, offering guidance and solace to those facing life's challenges. Sgt. Floyd's impact extended far beyond the confines of his profession. He was a devoted community advocate, tirelessly working to improve the lives of others and foster positive change within his beloved Hamilton County. His legacy of service will continue to inspire future generations to uphold the principles of justice, compassion, and unity. Sgt. Kevin Floyd will be deeply missed by his loving family, friends, colleagues, and the countless lives he touched throughout his remarkable journey. Though he may be gone from our sight, his spirit will live on in the memories we hold dear and the lasting impact he made on our hearts. A celebration of Sgt. Floyd's life will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Services will be on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Williamson and Sons Funeral Home in Soddy Daisy, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Venmo to the Kevin Floyd Memorial @kcfloyd72 in Sgt. Floyd's honor.
