John Tillman Stuart, 80, of Soddy Daisy, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 17, 2017. John T. was of the Baptist Faith and a lay minister. He had a great passion for music and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Myrtle Stuart; a grandson, Shane Stuart; two brother, Joe Stuart and Tom Stuart and three sisters, Francis Skiles, Freda Dalton and Margie Pruett.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty two years, Marie Hughes Stuart; a son, Tim (Brenda) Stuart of Soddy Daisy; two daughters, Carol (Robert) Smith of Leeds, Alabama, Teresa (Bill) Rogers of Soddy Daisy; grandchildren, Todd (Donna) Brisky of Soddy Daisy, Lisa (Alex) Dennis of Chattanooga, Matthew Rogers (Angel Posey) of Sale Creek, Ashley Rogers (Logan Jiles) of Dayton, great-grandchildren, Bryson Posey, Nick Dennis and a great-granddaughter due in January; a brother, Jim (Rose) Stuart of Soddy Daisy; a sister, Brenda (Cliff) Hixson of Soddy Daisy and lots of nieces and nephews.
Services will be 1:00 P.M Friday at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Coleman Cemetery. Visitation is 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
