Jessie Ables, age 81 went home to be with her Lord peacefully in her home on October 24th after a long battle with Alzheimers. Jessie was a devoted wife to her husband and caring mother to her children. Jessie was an active member of First Baptist Church in Soddy-Daisy for over 40 years. Jessie was saved in her teenage years at Woodland Heights Baptist Church. After high school Jessie was an operator for the old Southern Bell Telephone Company.
Jessie is proceeded in death by her parents, Erskine and Alma Johnson, brother Reed Johnson, and sister Betty Smith.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Bobby E. Ables; son, Jeffrey, of Springfield, Mo ( wife Robin), son David (wife Julie), daughter Christie Fine (husband George).
She was grandma to Heather (Ables) Sikes, Brian Ables, Marie Ables, Niki Ables , and Jessie Fine and 7 great grandchildren.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Sue Bradley who was a close friend and special helper in so many ways to Jessie.
Visitation will be at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home in Soddy-Daisy on Thursday October 26th from 4:00 pm until 9:00pm and on Friday October 27th from noon until 2:00 pm. The funeral will be at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home in Soddy-Daisy TN at 2:00pm on Friday October 27th. The services will be officiated by Dr. Seton Tomyn and Pastor Jeffrey Ables. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be sent to Soddy-Daisy First Baptist Church Food Bank fund.
