To the family and friends of. Jimmy, I have good news! God promises us in the Bible that there is going to be a resurrection to life here on earth. We see in John 5:28,29 it says , Do not be amazed at this ,For the hour is coming when all those in their memorial tombs (graves) will hear His (Gods) voice and come out. This is a promise to life for all of us. Isn't that wonderful!

I worked with Jim at Unum. He was always pleasant and nice. Always had a song in his heart and a smile on his face. So sorry to hear this. Jim will be missed.

I first met Jim March 27th 2016 through music a love we both shared as fellow singer/songwriters .... it began a seemingly lifetime of friendship in such a short time. We did a lot together musically and in friendship in such a short time... Jim was one of the kindest hearts I've ever known... one of the most musically talented people that I've ever known... I'm a richer man for having known Jim... I'm so blessed that God put us together in that chance meeting March 27th 2016 at a music venue he grew to love and play at... the Smokehouse in Monteagle Tn.... I will never forget you Jim... you were a great entertainer and a great friend. Love ya brother Jim... I'm so glad you are not suffering anymore... my condolences and prayers to all of his family and friends.

Remembering Jimmy from Daisy Elementary School in the 50's and 60's. He had a cast on his arm, but that didn't stop him from climbing trees. I always remembered him as being a nephew of my 1st grade teacher, Edna Mae Smith. I saw Jimmy a few years back at the Soddy Daisy walk track. He signed his CD for me. I met his sister Carolyn at TVA's Sequoyah Training Center. My thoughts and prayers to the Daughtrey family. --Carolyn

I worked with Jim at Unum before I retired in 2003. He used to come and sit my office and chat between his mail runs. I loved his music and listened to his dreams of going to Nashville. I'm so glad he gave me a CD of some of his music. Rest in peace, "Orange Yodeler."

Jimmy worked for me at Unum, and was always such a happy, and cheerful person. I loved hearing him sing and play guitar as he did for some of our dept. events. His wife Carol, also worked for me at Unum, and she also had a wonderful spirit. I miss her still, and will miss Jimmy as well. They will be together now in heaven. That is some comfort to those of us who loved them.
