Roy,
I was a student of your mom and dads at Lookout Valley Jr. High. Like so many other students I thought I was playing match maker! They were such a sweet couple. Many days I went to your mom's trailer and helped her with grading papers. When she would take me home she would leave your dad a snack on the table and a cup, I think for coffee, so when he came in it was sit up for him. I thought I was the only one that knew they were dating! Made me feel special. When you were born your mom was pretty sore and I can't remember why, but she could not hold you on the ride home, they ask my mom if I could go and hold you in the car on the way home. I was so honored that they had chosen me to hold their special baby boy. The love in their eyes when they saw you, I did not understand till many years when I held my boys! Know that you brought so much love to their lives. I lost touch with them after they left Lookout Valley, but always remember those special times with 2 of my favorite teachers. Hold your special memories in your heart and honor their memory. Judy Harness Spence

I will never forget how precious and kind this lady was. She always treated me like I was her own grandchild. I loved her, and will miss her dearly.

I'm sorry for your loss, Roy. I'm honored to have met both your parents. They raised a fine and devoted son. I hope fond memories will comfort you in the days ahead.

I am sorry to hear that you have lost your mother. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. May God give you courage and patience. We taught several years with Elsie and Jim and counted them as good friends. They will be deeply missed!
