   Elsie N. Roberts, 84, of Soddy Daisy, TN passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017 at the Soddy Daisy Health Care Center.
   She was born January 30, 1933 to the late Lee and Ethel Carlyle. Her husband, James (Jim) L. Roberts, also preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her sisters, Lucile Hollingsworth, and Josie Golden, her brother, Carter Carlyle and nephews, Jerry Hollingsworth and Gary Golden.
    Elsie was a 1950 graduate of Sylvania High School in Sylvania, AL; she also earned a B.S. in Education in 1964 from the University of Chattanooga, and was a teacher with the Hamilton County Dept. of Education for 26 years. She taught at, in chronological order: Lookout Valley Junior High, Apison Elementary, Allen Elementary and Soddy Elementary. Elsie was also a member of and past-president of the Daisy Woman’s Club. She was a member of Soddy Daisy First Baptist Church. She was an avid reader of books, especially the Harry Potter series, and loved working crossword puzzles. She loved that she got to see all 8 Harry Potter movies in their original theatrical run with her husband and son. Every fall, she loved going to Dollywood with her husband and son and seeing The Kingdom Heirs perform. She was also a fan of the UTC MOCS and the Carson-Newman College Eagles football team.
   She is survived by her son, Roy L. Roberts, Soddy Daisy, TN, sister-in-law, Louise Howell, Ft. Oglethorpe, GA and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
      Graveside services and internment will be at the Chattanooga Memorial Park at on Monday, May 22, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. with visitation preceding from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Williamsons and Sons Funeral Home with Dr. Seton Tomyn, pastor of Daisy First Baptist Church officiating. Pallbearers will be Josh McCullar, Pam Williams, Jacob McCullar, Elijah Morgan, Kelly Gibbs, and Jimmy Brown.
   Her son would like to thank Dr. Walter Parkhurst and the staffs of Galen Medical North, Memorial Hospital Hixson, and the Soddy Daisy Health Care Center for their exemplary kindness and caring.
   In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Elsie’s memory to the Building Fund of First Baptist Church of Soddy-Daisy, Soddy Daisy, Tennessee.
