Claude J. Mewborn

Claude J. Mewborn, 88, of Soddy-Daisy, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2017. He was a resident of Soddy-Daisy since 1976 and a deacon at South Soddy Baptist Church. Claude served his country in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He worked at Wal-Mart from 1989 until March 2017. Claude was preceded in death by his parents, Victoria and Clifford Mewborn; brother, Clifford Mewborn, Jr. and sisters, Irene Taylor, Maebell Dockery and Daisy Vaughn.

Survivors are his wife, Mary Jo Mewborn; daughter, Caroleen Mewborn; grandson, Zachary Mewborn; brother, Fred Mewborn and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be on Monday, October 9, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Al Kaschimer and Rev. Ronnie Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton County Memorial Park. Visitation is Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
