Gene Frizzell

Charles Eugene “Gene” Frizzell, 83, of Hixson, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018. He attended Mile Straight Baptist Church and was a faithful member of the Joymakers Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Daisy Masonic Lodge #706 F&AM. Gene served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from the Hamilton County Department of Education where he drove Bus # 5. Gene was known as “Woodcutter” on the CB Radio. He enjoyed woodworking, cabinet making and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His parents, Ruben and Margie Frizzell; brother, R.J. Frizzell and sister, Shirley Woody preceded him in death.

Survivors are his loving wife of 56 years, Faye Abney Frizzell; son, Barry Frizzell; daughter, Gina Phillips (John); grandchildren, Grant Phillips, Laura Phillips and McKenzie Frizzell and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Al Goss and Dr. Tommy Goss officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
