Bobbie Edward Burns, Sr.

Bobbie Edward Burns Sr., 83, of Hixson, passed away peacefully on Sunday March 17, 2024. Bobbie was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps and after being Honorably Discharged worked at Gilman Paint until he retired. Bobbie was very skilled with any tool you put in his hand and loved working in his garage, but there was nothing he loved more than being in the presence of his children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren.

Bobbie was preceded in death by his wife Peggy Burns (he lovingly called Louise); his parents, Ralph Burns, and mother Blanche Burns Shropshire; Sister, Peggy Tankersley; brother, Winfred Burns; and son, Mark Burns.

Left to cherish his memory include his son, Bobbie Burns, Jr. (Lisa); daughter, Sherri Burns; Grandchildren, Misty O’Malley (Steven), Meagan Gilliam, Dylan Barnard, and Taylor Burns (Katelyn); great grandchildren, Morgan O’Malley, Shane O’Malley, Levi Gilliam, Ella Grace Gilliam, Kaleigh Barnard, and Sebastian Burns; sister, Darlene Barnwell (Greg); several nieces, nephews and extended family and great friends.

Graveside services will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Charles Ingle presiding. With the following serving as Pallbearers; Bobbie E. Burns Jr., Taylor E. Burns, Dylan E. Barnard, Steven O'Malley, John O'Malley Sr. and Hunter Burke. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers; Reg Smith, Glen Sims, and Mitchell Brady.
