Alan McNabb

Frank Alan McNabb, 66, of Hixson went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 29, 2017.  He was born on April 5, 1951 to Rev. Frank and Jewell McNabb.  He was preceded in death by both of his parents, his daughter, Annette Shadden, and his sister, Judy (Johnny) Blaylock. 

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Shirley; five children, Tim (Lisa) Vincent, Sherry Vincent Starnes, David (Cindy) McNabb, Mark (Melissa) McNabb, Mike (Jennifer) McNabb; 14 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Sue (Curtis) McNabb-Winn; brother, Sammy (Pam) McNabb; and several nieces and nephews.

Alan was a graduate of Kirkman High School, and he was a member of the New South Daisy Baptist Church.  He retired from the Chattanooga Gas Co.  He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.  Alan was a man of great strength and integrity, and he spent most of his life taking care of his family.  He battled cancer on and off for almost 30 years with courage and grace.  He loved spending time in his garden and playing with his grandchildren.  His smile and infectious laughter will be greatly missed.  But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isiah 40:31)

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 4, 2017, at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Sammy McNabb and Jacob McNabb officiating.   Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.    The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 8:00 PM. on Friday, November 3, 2017 as well as from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at the funeral home.
